Research On The Practice Of Social Workers Participating In The Construction Of New Rural Communities

Accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas is an integral part of Chinese path to modernization and the foundation and support for realizing the leap from a big agricultural country to a powerful agricultural country.The realization of rural modernization requires innovative rural governance methods and the adoption of diverse management models and means.The concept of community building can be used as a new mechanism to promote the development of rural communities.Community building advocates exploring the rational utilization of community resources in the five aspects of "people,culture,land,property,and landscape",mobilizing community residents to actively participate,and completing community self-organization,self governance,and self development.As an important practical model for community work,the regional development model emphasizes bottom-up democratic decision-making,attaches importance to the active participation of community residents,encourages residents to effectively utilize community resources through self-help and mutual assistance,solves common problems in the community,and promotes community development.This is highly consistent with the concept of community construction.Exploring community construction under the regional development model has certain practical significance for innovating rural community governance models.This article takes C Organic Community in L County as the research object,and under the guidance of practical methods of regional development models,social workers participate in the construction of new rural communities on site.After entering the community,social workers evaluate residents’ needs and analyze the community’s advantageous resources.The process of community building is divided into three stages: "activity mobilization period,activity implementation period,and activity consolidation period".Firstly,during the mobilization period,establish good professional relationships with residents,identify community elites,and set service goals.Secondly,during the activity period,construction activities will be carried out from three aspects based on the specific situation of the community: "people",focusing on the needs of residents and providing targeted services;Literature "promotes rural folk culture and enriches residents’ leisure life;Landscape " beautifies the community environment,promotes and displays the community scenery,and drives the development of community tourism.Finally,during the consolidation period of the activity,a qualitative evaluation of the process of the construction activity and a quantitative evaluation of the effectiveness of the construction activity were conducted.It was found that community residents were highly satisfied with the construction activity,and after the activity was carried out,residents’ participation increased to a certain extent,and community cohesion was also strengthened.By reflecting on the shortcomings of practical activities,three improvement suggestions are proposed: to leverage the professional advantages of social work;Cultivating local volunteer organizations in rural areas;Improve governance mechanisms and strengthen democratic consultation.This article carries out specific practical activities for the construction of new rural communities,summarizes the practical experience of social workers participating in rural community construction under the guidance of the regional development model,enriches the practical activities of social work involved in rural community construction,and provides effective ideas for other rural communities to improve their governance capabilities.
