The Young person’s Guide to the Orchestra is an orchestral work written by British composer Benjamin Britten for the film Music for an Orchestra.The aim is to introduce the instruments in the orchestra to teenagers and their parents.The works have educational significance and are the entry works for students to learn and appreciate orchestral works.The piece has been included in music textbooks of various editions and is of great importance as a gateway to appreciating orchestras.According to the teaching requirements and educational concepts of the curriculum standard,I searched for the teaching resources of the seventh-grade music appreciation course "The Young person’s Guide to the Orchestra" in Xiangyi Edition,analyzed the teaching materials and students’ actual situation,carried out the class design,and carried out the teaching practice.Through practice research,a complete instructional design and practice process has been formed.This paper is mainly divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which is divided into: the origin of the research,the significance of the research purpose,the literature review,the key and difficult points of the research and the innovation points.The second part is the analysis of the Xiang Yi Edition of junior high school music textbook,including the overview of the Xiang Yi edition of junior high school music textbook and the unit structure analysis of the second unit of the second volume of the seventh grade of the Xiang Yi Edition of junior high school music textbook.The third part is the teaching content analysis of the "The Young person’s Guide to the Orchestra",including the analysis of learning situation and the relevant analysis and overview of the "The Young person’s Guide to the Orchestra".The fourth part is the teaching practice analysis of the Guide to Orchestra for Teenagers,which includes three parts: teaching design,teaching practice process,classroom summary and teaching reflection.In combination with their own analysis and teaching practice,students can get a good appreciation class experience and master the basic methods of appreciating orchestral works.
