| Total Resistance Exercise(hereinafter referred to as TRX)is a form of training under unstable conditions,which helps stimulate smaller muscles and improve overall core strength.The decline in physical fitness among modern college students is a serious issue,accompanied by a growing number of psychological problems.This study aims to compare the effects of TRX suspension training and conventional core strength training on core strength enhancement among college students,and to investigate whether TRX suspension training has a positive impact on their mental states and physical fitness.This study employed various methods,including literature review,expert interviews,experimentation,mathematical statistics,and logical analysis.The participants were 27 students from the 217 Digital Media class and 32 students from the 2157 Mobile class at Guangdong Vocational College of Post and Telecom.The experiment started in March 2022 and lasted until July 2022.The 27 students from the Digital Media 217 class were assigned to the experimental group,which underwent TRX suspension training,while the 32 students from the Mobile 2157 class were assigned to the control group,which underwent conventional core strength training.The experiment lasted for 12 weeks.Both groups underwent core stability tests(Level8 plank),dynamic strength tests(supine left-right ankle touch,supine double leg lift,Russian twist,supine scissor kick),and static strength tests(plank,side plank,three-point plank,supine hip lift)before and after the experiment.A comparative analysis of the students’ mental states and physical fitness before and after the experiment yielded the following results:1.After the experiment,the experimental group’s core stability test results improved more than the control group’s.There were significant differences(p<0.05)in the dynamic core strength and static core strength test indicators between the experimental and control groups before and after the experiment.Moreover,the experimental group completed a higher number of dynamic core strength and static core strength indicators during the experiment compared to the control group.2.Before the experiment,there were no significant differences(p>0.05)in the TMD values between the experimental and control groups.After the 12-week experiment,there were significant differences in both positive and negative mental states in the experimental group,while there were no significant differences in the control group’s positive and negative mental states.Additionally,there were significant differences(p<0.05)in the TMD values between the experimental and control groups after the experiment.3.After the experiment,both the experimental and control groups improved their scores in the 50-meter run,standing long jump,pull-ups/sit-ups,and1000-meter/800-meter run,but the average improvement in the experimental group was greater than that of the control group.The sit-and-reach scores in both groups decreased.The study concluded that TRX suspension training can improve core strength and mental states among college students.By enhancing core strength,college students’ performance in the 50-meter run,standing long jump,pull-ups/sit-ups,and1000-meter/800-meter run can be improved,and their physical fitness can be enhanced to some extent. |
