In April 2022,the Ministry of Education released the Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)(hereinafter referred to as the new curriculum standards),which states that the core literacy of physical education and health curriculum is mainly reflected in the aspects of motor ability,healthy behavior and physical morality.In the context of comprehensive implementation of subject core literacy in basic education,the deep integration of core literacy and curriculum teaching is an important task in the current physical education curriculum reform.The integration of core literacy into physical education classrooms must optimize the teaching methods of physical education classes,which have changed from emphasizing "knowledge and skill-based" to "student development-based".Physical education classes require the creation of colorful and interesting teaching contexts to help students understand learning knowledge and motor skills,and to improve their comprehensive ability to solve practical problems in physical education and health.This paper introduces the contextual teaching method to conduct experimental teaching research in order to explore the role of contextual teaching in promoting students’ core literacy development and to provide teaching strategies to enhance the effectiveness of students’ classroom learning.This paper was studied by literature method,expert interview method,questionnaire survey method,teaching experiment method and mathematical statistics method.The experimental study was carried out with the fifth grade basketball teaching in Guangzhou Bayi Experimental Primary School as the research object,and after the experiment,a comparative analysis of students’ physical fitness,basketball special skills,health behaviors,physical moral,physical learning attitudes and physical learning interest levels under the two teaching methods was conducted,and the findings of the study are as follows.1.Contextual teaching method and conventional teaching method have no significant effect on the improvement of students’ physical quality after teaching,and there is a significant improvement on students’ attainment and technical evaluation of fixed-point two-handed chest passing and full-court dribbling around obstacles,among which,contextual teaching method is more effective than conventional teaching method in improving students’ attainment,and there is a significant difference between them,and there is no difference between them in technical evaluation,which means that contextual teaching method is more advantageous to improve students’ There was no difference between the two,indicating that the contextual teaching method was more advantageous to improve students’ basketball special skills.2.Contextual and conventional teaching methods have no obvious effect on the improvement of students’ health behaviors after teaching.The development of students’ health behaviors is a gradual process,and 12 weeks of physical education classes have not been able to achieve significant improvement.3.Contextual teaching method and conventional teaching method produce different effects on students’ sports character after teaching.Contextual teaching method has a significant effect on students’ cooperative spirit,but not on affective performance.4.The contextual teaching method and the conventional teaching method had significant enhancement effects on students’ interest and participation in physical education learning attitude,positive interest,negative interest and sports participation in physical education learning interest after teaching,but it had no significant enhancement effects on learning style and classroom performance aspect in physical education learning attitude and focus on physical education in physical education learning interest,indicating that the contextual teaching method was more effective in improving students’ physical education This indicates that the contextual teaching method is more effective than the conventional teaching method in improving students’ learning attitudes and interest in physical education.
