| As an integral part of the innovation system,the "double first-class" universities are responsible for the dual mission of improving innovation capacity and cultivating innovative talents,being the important support towards Chinese technological and scientific innovation work.The national central cities,as national or regional ones,are the political,economic,cultural,scientific and educational centers,and modern metropolis with a strategic position in the country.The successive introduction of the two shows the courage and confidence of China’s continuous deepening reform in all aspects of economic,educational and social development.Taking the national central city as an example,this paper tries to discuss the influence of technological and scientific innovation about universities under the construction of "double first-class" on the regional economic development,which has strong theoretical and practical significance to improve the scientific and technological innovation ability of universities under the construction of "double first-class" and lead the economic development of national central city,which have practical and theoretical significance.According to the analysis of the scientific and technological innovation and economic development of nine national central cities from 2008 to 2017,this paper firstly selects reasonable measurement indexes and constructs the index system of scientific and technological innovation and economic development of national central cities for universities under "double first-class" construction.The research finds that the scientific and technological innovation and economic development of the national central cities are the same.It is found that the highest contribution to the scientific and technological innovation ability and economic development level of "double first-class" universities in national central cities are scientific and technological innovation investment and economic scale respectively;the ranking of scientific and technological innovation ability and economic development level of "double first-class" universities is not consistent,and there are significant differences between them among different regions.The ranking of scientific and technological innovation ability and economic development level of universities under "double first-class" construction is not consistent,and there are significant differences between the two regions.Secondly,this paper analyzes the influence of science and technology innovation on economic development of national central cities by using panel quantile model based on the measurement of both capabilities.The results of empirical regression show that there is a significant relationship between science and technology innovation of "double firstclass" universities and economic development of national central cities,and in most quartiles,as the economic development level of cities improves,the positive influence of science and technology innovation capacity of "double first-class" universities on their economic development is increasing.With the improvement of the economic development level of cities,the positive influence of the scientific and technological innovation ability of universities under the "double first-class" construction on them is getting bigger and bigger.Through theoretical and empirical analysis,this paper has a deeper understanding of the influence of science and technology innovation of universities in "double firstclass" construction on the economic development of national central cities.The findings of this paper can help broaden the path of improving the scientific and technological innovation capacity of universities in national central cities and promote the effective interaction between technological and scientific innovation and economic development of universities in "double first-class" construction. |
