Research On Adult Education For The Social Integration Of Mongolian Herdsmen

With the continuous development of urbanization,more and more farmers or herdsmen have entered the city life and become new citizens,including many Mongolian herdsmen.Due to the new living environment after entering the city,many Mongolian herdsmen find it difficult to adapt to the new changes and integrate into modern urban social life,and even suffer from "urban autism".The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the problems of social integration of Mongolian herdsmen after they enter the city,and to put forward targeted solutions from the perspective of community education and continuing education,so as to help Mongolian herdsmen transform into citizens and smoothly integrate into the mainstream social life in the city.The object of this study refers to the Mongolian herdsmen who used to live in Qixian County around Xilin Hot and made a living by animal husbandry before moving to Xilin Hot and living in the city for a short time.In this paper,on the premise of sorting out relevant research data,using the method of observation and case interview,5 representative Mongolian herdsmen were selected to have a "homily" conversation with them one by one.At the same time,after several months of "squatting" at home,carefully observed the surrounding relatives and friends,neighborhood acquaintances,strangers in public places,etc.,and found "clues" from their speech,manners,etiquette,making friends,traveling,shopping and other life fragments,and carefully "captured" the "changes" and "persistence" of these Mongolian compatriots in urban life.Try to restore the reality of their social integration process.It is found that in the process of social integration from herdsmen to citizens,some Mongolian compatriots have some problems,such as limited employment channels,low psychological adaptability to urban life,weak collective consciousness and group belonging,boring leisure activities and leisure life,and narrow range of social activities.Based on the case interview and observation,the author believes that low level of education,changes in work content,differences in cultural customs and different living environment are the causes of the problems.There are many ways to promote Mongolian herdsmen to better integrate into modern urban social life.Combined with the author’s professional research,this paper only puts forward the strategies to help Mongolian herdsmen to integrate into the society from the perspective of adult education: vocational training and entrepreneurship education to improve their employability through multiple channels;Urban and national cultural education in parallel to enhance cultural identity;Pay attention to the mental health education of herdsmen in cities to promote psychological integration;Use the community platform to carry out leisure education,enrich the spare time life of herdsmen;Give play to the function of social communication and education to enhance herdsmen’s social capital;Integrating civic education into herdsmen’s life helps herdsmen transform into citizens.
