Textbooks play an important role in the pedagogical practices,and their compilation and application are concerned by educational circles all the time.High school history textbooks of unified edition were uniformly compiled and reviewed by the state.They were compiled under the direction of the History Curriculum Standard for General High Schools which was published in 2017 and strictly carried out it.The new textbooks are based on the fundamental task of establishing moral integrity in cultivation,aim to cultivate key competencies of History discipline of students and focus on cultivating talents in the new era.The new textbooks were first tried out in six provinces and cities in the fall of 2019,and extended to 14 provinces and cities in 2020.Then they will achieve full coverage by 2022.Undoubtedly,the appearance of the new textbooks has brought new atmosphere and new challenges to the history education and are widely concerned by experts,scholars and teachers.This paper investigates and analyzes the application status of high school history textbooks of unified edition and explores the application problems of new textbooks in the practical teaching.Then the paper proposes some instructional strategies to use the new textbooks by combining with the teaching cases of some famous teachers,in order to assist teachers with resolving difficulty in actual teaching,make better use of new history textbooks,teach history lessons well,and implement the key competencies of history discipline.This paper contains four parts.The introduction part expounds the point of research reason and significance,research status,methods,innovation and deficiencies.It also distinguish the meanings of teaching materials and textbooks.Chapter one compares the curriculum standards,complication style and text content of the high school history textbooks of unified edition with the textbooks of Yuelu edition to summarize the changes of the new textbooks in guiding ideology and writing content and to draw its inherent characteristics,such as strong academics,blending with the characteristics of the era,reflecting the will of the country and focusing on ability training.Chapter two counts and analyses the results of the questionnaires that were completed by some teachers and students from three schools that are covered by the new textbooks,then concludes the application difficulties of new textbooks in current period:teachers are faced with difficulties in using new textbooks,heavy teaching tasks and difficulty in implementing key competencies and students also have problems such as lack of interest and difficulty in understanding.Chapter three proposes instructional strategies to take advantage of new textbooks how to use the new textbooks well,how to complete teaching tasks,and how to implement key competencies,so as to In order to help teachers better adapt to the promotion and use of new high school history textbooks.
