“A teacher is one who imparts knowledge and dispels doubts.” Teachers not only shoulder the responsibility of teaching and educating people,but also shoulder the mission of national rejuvenation.With the continuous advancement and deepening of the practice and exploration of education and teaching reform,teacher education has paid more and more attention to the sustainable development of primary school teachers in recent years.In April 2021,The Ministry of Education of China issued the document of "Professional Competence Standards for Teachers of Primary Education Majors(Trial)",which clearly pointed out that teachers of primary education majors should have the ability of self-development,and the ability of self-development formally appeared in the public view.Primary school teachers are professionals who master professional teaching knowledge and skills and perform their duties in primary education and teaching.Teachers’ self-development ability refers to the behavioral power that teachers embody or consciously promote their own development in the process of education and teaching development,and it is the effective degree that teachers can solve problems or complete tasks.In addition,teachers’ self-development consciousness,teachers’ self-development behavior and teachers’ self-development ability promote and influence each other.It has the logic of internal unity.Therefore,the cultivation and promotion of the autonomous development ability of beginning primary school teachers need to be studied from two aspects: teachers’ autonomous development consciousness and teachers’ autonomous development behavior.This paper is mainly divided into five parts,including the definition of the concept of the ability of self-development of beginning primary school teachers and the logic of its formation,the design and results analysis of the survey on the ability of self-development of beginning primary school teachers,the problems and attribution of the survey,and the countermeasure analysis of improving the ability.First of all,through a series of data collection and literature analysis,the author defines the main concepts of this paper,and analyzes the formation logic of the self-development ability of beginning primary school teachers,which lays a theoretical foundation and analytical framework for the follow-up investigation.Secondly,the newly appointed primary school teachers with less than five years of teaching experience are taken as the main research objects.With reference to the opinions of primary school teachers,a questionnaire was compiled to investigate the self-development consciousness,self-learning,self-reflection evaluation,self-practice,communication and cooperation,supplemented by interviews,to further analyze and sort out the current situation and existing problems of the self-development ability of new primary school teachers,after the full attribution of the problems,the paper further analyzes the countermeasures to improve the autonomous development ability of new primary school teachers.Finally,the self-development ability of new primary school teachers is not simply composed of a single ability,but the optimization and integration of various abilities.The cultivation and promotion of teachers’ self-development ability should be based on teachers’ good physical and mental development quality and teachers’ professional quality,and need to be implemented in specific education and teaching practice.At present,there is little research on teachers’ self-development ability at home and abroad,and beginning primary school teachers seldom pay attention to their own ability in the early stage of teaching.In order to achieve sustainable development of teachers,it is urgent to cultivate and enhance teachers’ self-development ability.The continuous development and reform of modern education ultimately depends on the implementation and promotion of teachers.Only when the newly appointed primary school teachers have good self-development ability,can they better integrate the development trend and concept of education in the initial stage of career development,promote their own sustainable development,improve the quality of school education and teaching,adapt to the development of education reform,and give birth to a steady stream of development momentum.Based on this,it is expected that this research can arouse the academic circles,schools and beginning primary school teachers to actively explore and attach importance to teachers’ self-development ability to a certain extent,improve the correct cognition and understanding of teachers’ self-development ability of beginning primary school teachers,and provide feasible strategies for further promoting the sustainable development of beginning elementary school teachers.
