Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic,the external environment has been constantly changing.Schools at all levels are constantly adjusting their teaching modes according to the actual situation,and the study life of students at all stages in China has to be changed accordingly.For high school students,they have to adapt to the changing external conditions while facing the pressure of entering a higher school.The uncertainty of the surrounding environment makes them feel confused about their future development direction.Life education and career development are one of the important contents of mental health education for middle school students,so it is an important means to achieve this educational goal to improve the sense of life meaning and career adaptability.The sense of life meaning is not only closely related to individual physical and mental health,emotional attitude,but also has an impact on the field of career development.The purpose of this study is to understand the current situation,characteristics and influencing factors of senior high school students’ career adaptability and sense of meaning in life,to explore the correlation between them,and to explore intervention methods that can effectively improve the level of senior high school students’ sense of meaning in life.This study is divided into two parts:In the first study,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 538 senior high school students in a middle school to investigate the current situation of senior high school students’ sense of life meaning and career adaptability,to explore whether there are significant differences between them in demographic variables,and to further analyze the correlation between them.In the second study,according to the survey results of the first study,20 members with low scores of career adaptability were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,with 10 members in each group.The experimental group was given group counseling intervention with the theme of life meaning,while the control group did not receive any intervention.After the intervention,the post-test of career adaptability and sense of meaning of life in the experimental group and the control group were carried out respectively,and compared with the pre-test data.The results are as follows:(1)The scores of senior high school students’ career adaptability are significantly different in different family residences,but there is no significant difference in the scores of senior high school students’ career adaptability in gender and grade.(2)There is no significant difference in senior high school students’sense of meaning in life among different genders,family residence and grades.(3)Senior high school students’ sense of meaning of life and its factors are positively correlated with their career adaptability and dimensions.(4)The group counseling on the meaning of life in this study has effectively improved the sense of meaning of life of the subjects,thus promoting the level of career adaptability.
