Functional Movement Screening(FMS)is a testing system for basic physical abilities that is widely used among a wide range of people and has no limitations on the exercise level of the subject. It can identify the subject’s own erroneous motion problems and effectively improve them through intervention training. This test is widely used in competitive sports activities, effectively reducing the probability of injury.Race walking is a endurance type of periodic exercise dominated by physical fitness, with high requirements for athletes’ physical fitness and skills.Race walking technology requires athletes to have high stability and flexibility in their hips, knees, and ankles. These joints are often the most important areas of injury during training. Therefore,FMS testing is used to screen excellent male race walking athletes in Fujian Province to assess their physical stability, flexibility Evaluate and diagnose the balance ability, objectively and accurately reveal the problems in physical movement function, and develop a personality training program for experimental intervention,so as to improve the physical movement function deficiencies of Fujian male race walking athletes, promote athletes to establish an optimal race walking technical structure, prevent and reduce the risk of sports injury, improve race walking technical actions, and improve athletes’ special performance in race walking. This article uses the methods of literature review, expert interviews, experiments, and mathematical statistics to evaluate the diagnostic results and intervention effects of physical movement functions of 8 elite male race walking athletes from Fujian Province’s race walking team.By consulting experts and coaches, determining experimental test indicators, and developing intervention plans with experts and coaches based on the test results. The following conclusions are reached through research:(1)The average FMS test total score of the top 8 Fujian elite male race walking athletes in intervention training was 17.75 points, slightly higher than the passing standard of 14 points. The overall performance of the walking race athletes is poor, and each athlete has different degrees of functional problems. In the seven tests, the hurdle test performance is poor, with 3 people reaching the 3 point standard, and the remaining 5 people having lower limb stability, body symmetry, and proprioceptive functional problems; The average score for the rotational stability test was the lowest, with only 1.87 points obtained. The highest score for this project was 2 points, and only 1 point was obtained for one person.(2)Fujian male race walking athletes significantly improved their FMS scores through intervention training, with the total average test score increasing from 17.75 points to 20.25 points. There was a significant difference in the total score before and after intervention training;Among them, there is a significant difference in the scores of the straight leg active lift and rotation stability tests, while there is no significant difference in the scores of the other five tests. However, the average scores of each item have been improved. The designed intervention training has a good effect on improving the physical function of race walking athletes.(3)Fujian male race walking athletes have improved their weak points through intervention training.Intervention training has greatly improved the flexibility of athletes’ shoulder joints, trunk stability, stability and flexibility of lower limbs, hips, knees, and ankles, body symmetry, and proprioception. The quality of actions to complete the test has significantly improved, the athletes’ body symmetry performance ability has been optimized, the flexibility and strength performance of weak side chains has been improved, and the consistency of completed actions has become smoother and more stable.(4)Fujian male race walking athletes have improved their physical fitness through intervention training.Athletes’ upper and lower limb muscle strength, muscle endurance, core stability, proprioception, and specific speed and other related abilities have been improved. There was a significant difference in the 60 second squat test,a very significant difference in the 60 second push up test, and the total score. There was no significant difference in the results of the plate support test and the 1000 meter race walk test.(5)Fujian male race walking athletes have improved their race walking skills through specialized intervention training. The athletes’ technical structure and movement fluency of race walking have been optimized, their overall movement performance has become more coherent, their movement frequency has become more compact, and their muscle flexibility, stability of support joints, flexibility of active joints, and overall muscle strength level have been improved. However, intervention training did not have a significant impact on the improvement of specific performance.
