Research purposes: Track and field courses are a compulsory course for physical education students in school.How to improve the athletic performance of track and field events in limited teaching hours has always been a question worth thinking about.In recent years,with the rise of functional movement screening and functional training,it has been widely used in sports rehabilitation and competitive sports,but it is rarely used in physical education teaching in colleges and universities.Therefore,in this study,functional movement screening was applied to the teaching of general track and field courses.Through functional movement screening,students in general courses were tested,and the wrong patterns of movements and asymmetry and imbalance on both sides of the body were found..According to the results of the screening,a targeted functional training program is designed to improve the problems of movement defects and compensation during exercise,and to better improve the quality of teaching while preventing sports injuries.Research object and method: This paper takes the application research of functional movement screening in the general track and field course as the research object,using the method of literature data,expert interview,experiment method and mathematical statistics method.The experimental subjects selected 45 students from the 2020 general track and field course of Fujian Normal University.They were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group.Before the experiment,the two groups of students were screened for functional movements,and a relative training program was designed based on the results of the screening.The experimental group added functional training to intervene in the teaching,while the control group received conventional traditional teaching.Both functional training and traditional physical training were performed for 35 minutes twice a week for 12 weeks.After the experiment,the relevant indicators were tested,and the relevant data were entered into SPSS26.0 for analysis.Research results: After 12 weeks of functional training intervention,the students in the experimental group had no significant difference in the hurdles before and after the experiment except for two symmetrical movements overhead squats and trunk stable push-ups(P>0.05).There were significant differences(P<0.05)in the tests of the five items of step,straight lunge,shoulder flexibility,straight knee leg raising and rotational stability(P<0.05),among which the straight knee leg raising and shoulder flexibility were extremely significant difference(P<0.01).After 12 weeks of traditional physical training,the students in the control group had no significant difference in the test of the seven FMS movements before and after the experiment(P>0.05),but there was a small increase in the scores,indicating that the traditional Physical training can also improve FMS scores,but the effect is not significant.After a 12-week teaching experiment,there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the FMS test except for overhead squats,trunk stable push-ups and straight lunges(P>0.05).There were significant differences in the tests of hurdle walking,shoulder flexibility,straight knee leg raising and rotational stability(P<0.05),among which the straight knee leg raising and shoulder flexibility had extremely significant differences(P<0.01).After12 weeks of teaching experiments,both functional training and traditional physical training can improve the performance of 100 meters,long jump and shot put.After the experiment,independent samples t-test was performed on the data of the two groups,and it was found that there were significant differences between the students in the experimental group and the students in the control group in the long jump and shot put events(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the 100-meter event(P<0.05).P>0.05),but the increase in the 100 m performance of the students in the control group was greater than that of the students in the experimental group.Research.conclusions:(1)Through the functional movement screening,it is found tha t the FMS score of the students in the general training class of track and field is low,the d eviation of the left and right sides of the body is large,the development of the movement ability of the two sides of the body is unbalanced,and there are certain problems in the sy mmetry and stability of the body.(2)Functional training can significantly improve the FMS scores of the students in the experimental group,and traditional physical training can also improve the FMS scores of the students in the control group,but the effect is not significant.(3)Functional training can significantly improve the performance of students in the general track and field classes in long jump and shot put,but not in 100 meters;traditional physical training can also improve students in the control group in 100 meters,long jump and shot put.performance,but the effect is not significant;compared with functional training,traditional physical training has a greater improvement in the performance of the 100-meter event.(4)Functional movement screening can effectively screen out the asymmetry and weak links of the subject’s body,and the movement compensation mode can be effectively improved through targeted functional training.However,the level of exercise level has nothing to do with the score of movement screening,so functional movement screening cannot determine the level of exercise ability.(5)Both functional training and traditional physical training are part of physical training,each with its own advantages and disadvantages,which is a parallel relationship rather than a substitute relationship.Recommendations:(1)Functional training can effectively prevent sports injuries,and adding functional movement screening and functional training to the teaching of physical education classrooms can enrich teaching methods and improve teaching quality.(2)Physical functional training and traditional physical training complement each other.These two types of training should be rationally combined according to the characteristics of the project,so as to better improve sports performance.
