With the expanding in-depth of the physical education curriculum reforming, the middle school PE teachers confront greater pressure and challenge. In this context, career resilience is an indispensable ability of middle school PE teachers. Career resilience is helpful to physical education teachers to better adapt to the changing of the teaching environment and teaching demand, and to adopt a positive behavior to cope with school sports'work. This dissertation takes theoretical exploration and empirical research about the career resilience of the middle school PE teachers, to provide a theoretical basis which improve their career resilience and help education departments to take effective interventions on the education of PE teachers.A mixture of quantitative and qualitative methodologies tested this proposition, which take theoretical construction and quantification validation to the structure connotation, behavior characteristics, influencing factors of the middle school PE teachers'career resilience. The specific methods are interviews, data analysis, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. Taking convenience sampling,1610Middle school PE teachers were selected as the research sample from13regions of the east, central and western regions in China. Commissioned classmates and acquaintances to investigate the questionnaires, ultimately, the1052questionnaires are valid, the results are as follows:Results1:Middle school physical education teacher'career resilience refers to PE teachers can adapt to changes in the work environment flexibly, even in bad situations demonstrate the ability of well working condition, including five factors:the ability of career aspiration, the ability of vocational adaptation, coping capacity, occupational toughness, and the ability of self-improvement. The career toughness behavior of middle school PE teacher were characterized by actively looking for a solution to the problem in challenging work, seeking social support, self-motivation in the face of pressure, self-relaxation, positive for progress, improve their business skills constantly, and always have the unyielding attitude, insist on doing their work, keeping optimistic and positive attitude, set goals and persist in the work. Results2:To develop a "Career Resilience Scale" about middle school physical education teachers. The scale consists of25items, including the five dimensions, which is the ability of career aspiration, the ability of vocational adaptation, coping capacity, occupational toughness, and the ability of self-improvement. The correlation coefficients are between0.22-0.53between the various dimensions, the factor loadings of each items is above0.7, the scale has good construct validity. The scale's internal consistency reliability coefficient is0.903, the coefficients of each subscale are between0.893-0.932, the reliability coefficient of test-retest is0.726. The scale has good reliability and validity, it can be used as the measurement tool of middle school PE teachers'career resilience.Results3:There are some demographic characteristics on career resilience of middle school PE teachers. Career resilience have significant difference in age, teaching years, and professional title, with the increasing of age, teaching years and professional title, the career resilience shows the higher level. On income, the PE teacher that has a high income shows higher resilience. Higher educated PE teachers don't show higher career resilience level, The PE teachers college degree or below, career resilience levels were significantly higher than the other physical education teachers, married PE teachers' career resilience is significantly higher than the other PE teachers. In addition, in the gender variable, the career resilience of the male teachers was greater than the female physical education teachers in the ability of vocational adaptation, coping capacity, but other dimensions of career resilience were no significant difference. The rural PE teachers are significantly higher than urban PE teachers in career coping capacity, and the ability of self-improvement is lower significantly than urban PE teachers. The occupational toughness of PE teachers in the western region is significantly higher than the eastern regions and central regions.Results4:Found the mechanism that different factors affect the career resilience of middle school PE teacher. Personality is an important variable that affect the middle school PE teachers'career resilience, it can directly affect career resilience of the physical education teachers, but also affect career resilience though coping style which as a mediator, in which the mediating effect is0.253, and accounted for65.2%of total effect. The regression coefficient was not significant on school organizational culture directly affect the career resilience, but to the professional identity or coping style as mediator, the indirect effects through three paths respectively, the school organizational culture→coping style→career resilience, school organization culture→the professional identity→Career resilience, school organization culture→professional identity→coping style→career resilience. Social support can directly affect the middle school PE teacher career resilience level, but also can indirectly affect the physical education teachers'career resilience though professional identity and coping style.There are three ways to improve career resilience level of middle school PE teachers: First, physical education teachers should improve their abilities on managing career resilience. Second, school should actively promote the cultivation of the PE teacher' career resilience. The third, teacher education and training institutions should strengthen cultivation and training about the career resilience of middle school PE teachers, and add resilience education into PE teachers'pre-vocational education.
