Since 1980 s,teacher professionalization has formed a global trend.Carrying out teacher education reform which bases on teacher professionalization has become the new tendency of the new development of international education.Teachers' Professional Standard(trial)and Curriculum Standards of Teacher Education published in China took “practice orientation” as one of the three basic concepts and they emphasized teacher's practical ability.Therefore,the study of the training of teachers' professional ability of normal students is a very important issue.Teacher individual professionalization is the foundation and source of the specialization of teachers and the basis of teacher professionalization.Improving teacher's professional ability of normal students is a necessary problem to be faced and solved in the process of cultivating qualified students in normal university.Based on practical philosophy,constructivism learning theory,theory of multiple intelligence,learning theory and system theory,this study investigates the current situation and existing problems of the cultivation of normal students' professional ability and put forward effective coping strategy.This study takes Northwest Normal University as its subject and uses cluster random sampling method.727 students in four grades from 8 colleges and 150 disciplinarians from 10 colleges make a questionnaire.The study also interviews the headmaster and instructors from education practice base school,training-lead teachers and intern students and arranges the feedback of the employers in recent years.Besides,this study makes a deeper research by document analysis method,historical method,theoretical analysis method and action research method.Through the analysis of the process of the overall training of improving normal students' professional ability in teacher education reform,Northwest North University has formed six training modules,namely,blackboard writing and standard Chinese characters writing,mandarin and teacher's oral expression,multimedia courseware manufacture technology,information-based teaching,classroom instructional design,organization and implement,class activity organization.Based on the intensify ofmicroteaching,it has also developed three kinds of internship,they are,multidisciplinary joint formation,practice teaching in ethnic minority areas and replacement teaching.The University has made the “6131” cultivating and training model which took normal graduates teaching contest as its way.The aim of “6131”model is to let everyone participate in it and to help everyone improve.Implementing in step,focusing on actual effect,encouraging creativity and making overall promotion are its principles.At the beginning of the model,students and disciplinarians will receive a related training.Then,the disciplinarians will lead a training group which contains 15 students to have a training using the experimental center of teacher professional ability traing and multimedia classrooms in Northwest Normal University.But the research also found some problems about teacher professional ability training of normal students,such as the lack of the guide of specialized teacher,the loose training organization,the casual attitude of students,which influenced the training effect.And the low organization ability of disciplinarians,the deficiency of communication between students and disciplinarians,formalized training content,simple training methods,low enthusiasm of students,the lack of training equipment influenced the effect of learning.In addition,through the survey of the disciplinarians,we found,they have a high enthusiasm to participate in their work.The training of disciplinarians is smooth and the training effect is obvious.The training atmosphere is harmonious.The disciplinarians are satisfied with the training.From the interview,we found,the headmasters,the instructors,the intern students and the new teachers give a positive recognition to “6131” training model of the overall improvement of normal students' teacher professional ability.And meanwhile,they also put forward some useful advice.The feedback of the employers also made the same evaluation.The model offers a choice to the overall improvement of normal students' teacher professional ability.And the students in Northwest Normal University take advantages from it.Based on the research,in the ability development of normal students,the teacher should deal with the relationship between the inheritance and development of historical tradition,between theoretical reference and practice innovation.Improving the strategy of teacher's professional ability training which connects curricular,activities andeducational practice.In order to establish the strategy of overall improvement of normal students' teacher professional ability training,six points should be obeyed.First,insist on the outstanding tradition of the teacher education in normal university and foster the culture of teacher education.Second,establish a “learning community” that trains normal student's professional ability.Imitate and optimize the way of“participatory” training and aim at capability training.Third,highlight the cultivation model of the idea of reflection and foster the improving strategy which is based on reflection ability.Fourth,borrow and optimize the way of “participatory” training.Fifth,use educational informationization to improve teacher professional ability.Six,intensify the research of the training of teacher's professional ability of normal students.
