There are three chapters in this paper: the first chapter is a review that summarizes the phytochemical constituents and pharmacological research of the pharmic plants of Elsholtzia.In the second chapter we carried out a detailed phytochemical research on the whole plant E.blanda benth that collected in the southwest of Sichuan province. The ethanol syrup of the plant was further extracted with petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate. Sixty-nine compounds were identified from the eighty-nine MS peaks that were acquired through GC/MS analyse method from petroleum ether extraction. The sixty-nine compounds account for 96.43% of the total petroleum ether extraction. They are thymal (48.05%), carvacrol (2.01%), aliphatic acid (6.77%) and so on. These compounds were founded for the first time in the plant except alpha-caryophyllene, dibutyl phthalate and linoneic acid ethyl ester. Twenty-one compounds were obtained from the chloroform and ethyl acetate extraction through repeated silica gel colum chromatograph, preparative TLC, recrystalization and 19 compounds were identified by means of UV IR MS DEPT ~1HNMR ~13CNMR etc. Most of them are flavonoids, triterpenes and two of them are new compounds that were named as SilenghaoineIV and SilenghaoineV. Beside all of the above, we also carried out an investigation about the microelement and aminophenol of the plant and found that the main microelement of it are Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Mg. Eighteen aminophenols were found in the plant, like GLU, ASP and so on.In the second part of the thesis we identified 42 compounds (96.81% in total) through GC/MS method from essential oil of E.cypriani Pomp. The most of these compounds is p-cymenol.In all, this paper can help us understand the chemicai components of E.blanda benth and E.cypriani Pomp systematically and guide medical experiment. It has great preferable value in enlarging medical resource of Chinese herbs, classification of plants, and seeking valid constituents for inhibiting bacterium.
