The Macroscopical Motivity Mechanism Which Effected The Flourish And Decline Of The Towns In Yunnan

This thesis is a study which probed into the regional development of Yunnan historic town. In different development state, there are many variable macroscopical factors, such as the transformation of exterior transport condition, the change of macroscopical regional economic, the evolvement of politic system and so on, which are embodied in the alternation of flourish and decline of towns. Since former studies on the historic town in Yunnan are much more about spacial structure of towns, which they put emphasis on the esthetics of space. Contrast to their field, this thesis studies some typical historic towns from macroscopical field, so as to summarizes the main factors which effected the flourish and decline of these towns, as well as the illumination on the development of modern towns.The thesis is composed of seven chapters. In preface section, the thesis interprets two conceptions of "historic town" and "region" ,gives a study area ,describes the background, technologic method, and constructs the whole framework. In the second section, the thesis presents the general town-origin theories, and analyzes the essential difference between orient towns and west ones, then probes into the nature environment as well as human and cultural geography which effected on the form of historic towns in Yunnan. The third one retrospects briefly the development of towns in Yunnan, generalizes their development characters, and summarizes forward some important factors which kept close relationship with the evolution of these towns, which offer some typical towns in the next section macroscopical background. Based on the investigation of Zhaotong and Mengzi, the fourth part researches the close relationship between the flourish and decline of two towns and traffic transport in different periodfrom regional transport view, then accounts that traffic had a crucial affect on the form of the typical historic towns in Yunnan. The next one is researches Heijing which developed with resource exploration from regional economic view, then stresses that exterior economical situation had an important influence on the form of the typical historic towns in Yunnan. The sixth part analyzes forward the important action of social politics and policy factors in the development of historic towns. The thesis takes example for Yisa and Mengzi, analyzes the two towns and draws a conclusion that macroscopical policy not only had a crucial affect on some small towns' economical development, but also had a far-reaching influence on some big ones. Based on above mentioned, combined with what the towns' regional planning faced, the last one analyzes furthermore the realistic significance on researching the regional factors of the historical towns' form and development.'At last, the thesis draws some conclusions of whole study.
