Automatic control device of ship power-station is an important part in shipping automation and the monitoring system is essential for unmanned engine room.With the development of power electronic technology and auto-control technology, modern vessels are tending to large scale and automation. This will certainly make the system more complex and effective control system for the modern vessels is important.This topic takes ship power-station's management for example, has constructed the monitoring and management system based on the CAN bus for ship power-station. This system uses CAN bus as the communication network and it's an entire distributional structure, carries on decentralized control and centralized management.In this system, automatic controlling device as distributed intelligent node, carries on automatic control to each generator, completing the automatic start, automatic parallel, automatic adjust frequency and load, security detection and protection. And the management computer carries on monitoring and management to the whole system, it completes the display for parameters and status, alarm monitoring, data storage and some control functions. And each intelligent control node does not depend on the operation of monitor computer. So even if the PC is not running or breaking down, each device still can complete the automatic control function independently.This article has introduced the automatic control device which takes TMS320LF2407A as the control core, and based on this, has designed monitoring and management system for ship power-station based on the MCGS configuration software and the CAN bus. And this design used OPC technology in the communication between monitor software and CAN bus.This system is designed on the automation power station platform in our school, and has achieved automatic control function, and completed the design of monitoring system for it. As the multi-master structure feature of CAN bus, the monitoring system is easy to extend, so this is very important for the ship's central management.
