Ship power station is the heart of the modern ships. If there is no power, the whole ship can not work. Ship power station automation equipment includes automatic control and monitoring system, which used for improving the quality of power supply including the continuity and reliability.This paper takes the ADAM-5550KW, which is produced by the Yanhua Company, as the research subject to complete the design of the automatic control equipment. This research is significant attempt and exploration for the achievement and improvement of the automation of the ship power station.This paper introduces the software and hardware design of the ship power station automatic control equipment based on PAC. It includes five contents.First is the detection of the paralleling situation including voltage and frequency difference and the detection of the phase difference and calculating of the lead before switching on with the help of GPC.Second is automatic frequency and load control including the conversion of the frequency and voltage, design of the speed regulation, adjustment of the frequency, and the distribution and transfer of the active power.Third is connection and cut the generator set automatically, including start, disconnection and stop automatically.Fourth is the design of the monitoring equipment including monitoring the condition of the power station, the diameters of the generator and alarm.The last is the advanced function implement of the PAC, including FTP Server and the remote monitoring function of the Web Server.This paper uses 5 parts to present the research, including the advantage and feasibility of the PAC, the basic theory of the Ship Power Station automation control, the design of the Ship Power Station automation control, the design of the monitoring interface in WinCE, and the advanced function of PAC. The equipment is debugged successfully based on two generator sets. It can run steadily in the lab, and it can meet the requirements of the functional index.
