Along with the rapidly economic development and social progress, an increasing number of people are beginning to pay attention to stress of all walks of life. As a high level stressful profession, prison police suffer from too much pressure. Work-family conflict, one of the primary stressors of the male prison police, exerts non-ignorable effect on them. Lots of empirical researches on work-family conflict reported that there was a close relationship between work-family conflict and life satisfaction,however, their interactions remain poorly understood.In this research, male prison police were surveyed by questionnaires. Based on integrating bottom-up and top-down theories of subjective well-being, current research takes locus of control as moderator, in order to explore both direct and indirect effect between work-family conflict and life satisfaction.The conclusions drawn by this research are as follows:(1) Work-family conflict scale has been proved reliable and valid to prison police.(2) The work-family conflict is significantly different on some of the demographic variables. The score of overall work-family conflict is significantly different on variable of marital status. The scores of work-family conflict based on time and family-work conflict based on time are significantly different on variables of age, marital status and family income. The scores of work-family conflict based on strain, family-work conflict based on strain, work-family conflict based on behavior and family-work conflict based on behavior are significantly different on variable of marital status.(3) The life satisfaction is significantly different on the demographic variables of age, marital status, education levels and family income. Scores of male prison police with high life satisfaction are higher on internal than those with low life satisfaction.(4) The scores of overall work-family conflict is negatively correlated with life satisfaction, and inner control. Family-work conflict based on behavior is negatively correlated with chance and powerful others, work-family conflict on behavior is negatively correlated with powerful others. Life satisfaction is positively correlated with internal. Work-family conflict and locus of control play predictive roles on life satisfaction.(5) Locus of control moderates the relationship between work-family conflict and life satisfaction with different mechanism.
