The Researches On Construction Of Ethics Of Modern Biotechnology

Reunite gene is a main research tool of modern biotechnology, which may realize to create new organism or to control the organism or to affect the organism,which is the innovation of technology invented by mankind.However, whether the result affects the evolution, whether it destroys the present ecological balance, whether it threatens mankind survival and so on, there are uncertain answers in short period. But, mankind do not give up the development of modern biotechnology in order to avoid its consequences. On the contrary, there is a rapid progress in modern biotechnology in most countries and this developing trend brings in enormous economic benefits for each country at the same time, as leading the interest groups to think little about the bad consequences of modern biotechnology. Yet, technics is not neutral but load value. Modern biotechnology must be steered by ethics besides relative policies and laws. Only thus can we choose reasoningly to make it a practice wisdom and a consistent moral. This thesis will research on the constructions of the ethics of modern biotechnology.The first part introduces the concept, the content and the background of modern biotechnology and points out the ethics puzzles from its "double sword".The second part analyses the causes of the ethics puzzles from the characteristics of modern biotechnology: one is that the modern biotechnology makes the complexity of life into simplicity, thus result in the disappearance of biological phenomena, which leads to the difficulty in foreseening and assessing the consequence of modern biotechnology. The other is that the development trend of modern biotechnology covers up the ethics puzzles.The third part, according to the causes of the ethics puzzles, builds the foundation of ethics construction: the material nature of mankind; the social nature of mankind; the relationship between mankind and nature; a moral person.The last part constructs the ethics principle as follows: 1.The principle of minima moralia including bacteria of using in labs, transgenic plant and transgenic animal with the core of no-injury mankind avoids the bad result of technology; 2.The principle of sustainble development including mankind and nature guarantees the best result of technology by fairness, sustainability and intercommunity. 3.The researchers should master the principle of responsibility including the societal role responsibility and the priority of societal public benefits to make technology better for mankind.The thesis will offer a benign development pattern of modern biotechnology by the way of constructing its principle of ethics. This will have profound impact on promoting innovation activities of modern biotechnology research.
