Study On Farmers' Income Growth In China

At present, many problems exist in agriculture and rural areas of china, with the slow income growth of farmers the most prominent one. Confronted with the new development stage of agriculture and entry into WTO, the solution to the problem of farmers' income growth has been the key factor of the problems of rural areas, farmers and agriculture. In the new circumstances, farmers' income growth is directly related to the whole national economy sustainable, rapid and healthy development , to the rural areas even the whole country's stability, to the realization of the third strategic stage . So the study on farmer income growth are of realistic and strategic significance now.The essay firstly puts forward the realistic and strategic significance of study on farmer income growth, then illustrates the theoretic basis and spiritual motivation of farmer income growth, analyses the basic features of farmer income level and income combination, investigates the major factors preventing farmer income growth, and provides the measures to promote farmer income. The research results show the farmer income gradual decrease is determined by the new features of agriculture' new stage and by the joint product of the weak agri-basis, improper economy structure of agriculture and the rural areas, surplus of agri-labors, low level of agri-industrialization, low level of the rural areas' urbanization, low qualities of farmers and low efficiency of agri-production. It is a long term and hard task to solve the problem of farmer income growth.lt is concluded such measures as strengthening agri-protection, quickening agri-labor shifting, adjusting and inproving agri-structure, promoting agri-industrialization , regulating farmer burden , raising farmers' quality can lift the steady and sustainable growth of farmers' income.
