With the approaching of information ages and the development of economy globalization, the importance of logistics in society and enterprise development is increasingly being emphasized. Close attention is being paid to supply chain management (SCM) that involves in logistics and information from supplier, manufacturer, retailer to consumer. But how to improve the operation efficiency of the third party logistics under the background of supply chain management and to reduce its operation cost is still a problem to be resolved. This thesis primarily deals with the third party logistics management under the background of supply chain management. Its main results are summarized as follows:1. After dealing with the meanings of supply chain management and the basic theory of the third party logistics, some comparisons are made between the third party logistics and traditional logistics. Moreover, the enlightening of SCM ideas to developing the third party logistics is analyzed from the viewpoint of supply chain management.2. Some current problems of logistics management in our country are illustrated. An operation model of integration third-party logistics is proposed that involves in order handling, storage, inventory, packing, transportation and delivery. Also, the benefit source of integration third-party logistics is analyzed from the viewpoint of provider of the third party logistics. Moreover, the main operation process of integration third-party logistics is analyzed for improving the operation efficiency of the third party logistics, including warehouse management, transit and transport management.3. For the transportation problem in the third party logistics management, a mathematical model is first established by quantitative analysis. Then, its solution isanalyzed to optimize transportation system of the third party logistics. Finally, an example is illustrated to validate the usability of the model.
