| The land, which is important space of producing and living of mankind, is the most precious resources of human. As a part of the land resources, the urban land resources having the highest capital and benefit are the carrier of urban construction which is necessary for the economic reproduction, population reproduction and environment reproduction, and the nature elements for sustainable development of a city. Whether urban land can keep on using or not directly affect the sustainable development of a city. Therefore, this text, taking Tai'an in Shandong province for example, was given an evaluating study on sustainable use of urban land.The sustainable use of urban land resources is the exertion and development of sustainable development strategy in the realm of land resources use. Firstly, this text was reviewed the domestic and international sustainable evaluation on land resources, providing a frame of reference and background for the thesis. Then the thesis was put up an systemic analysis on the target, intension and concept of the sustainable use of urban land.According to the theory of sustainable development and the principle of system, with synthetic analysis on system of urban land use, the author thought that the process of sustainable urban land use was a process of harmonizing of economy, society, resources environment mutually and brought forward the concept model of urban land use. After analyzing there are six systematic characters on urban land use: configuration arrangement, connection complexity, indetermination, open-door, dynamic, non-linearity, consequently the author brought up the concept model associating composite system with exterior environment of urban land use.Essential element analysis was brought forward that the utilization systemof urban land was composed of seven aspects: population, land resources, environment, economy and society, technology and system. The analysis on the urban land use system and elements has an important leading function on the confirmation of the construction of index system, the right of indexes and content of evaluation.From two angles of time and space, the author did his research on the sustainable use of urban land.In spatial angle, according to the principle of the information theory and information entropy, the author posted the space configuration movement regulation of urban land use with analysis in space configuration of urban land use. The author reckoned the space configuration condition of urban land use in Tai'an from two aspects of equilibrium degrees and information entropy. The calculation results showed that the land constitutional information was going up year by year, so was the balanced degree, which indicated that with the extending of city scale the development of city tended to become more mature and different in land constitution was more little in Tai'an. The use of land tended towards reasonability.Having studied the design principle of evaluation index system of urban land sustainable use, from the angle of system theory, this thesis was advanced central content of the evaluating system and arrangement model related to the sustainable use of urban land, and built the evaluating index system of sustainable use which be suitable to the land of middle city from the resources environment, economy, and society. And this thesis was handled indexes of the index system with the subjection function, and calculated weight of each index with administrative levels analytical methods, and got the level of land sustainable use of Tai'an in 1995 to 2001 with adding weight method and the coordination degree of land use in Tai'an with the model of coordination degree, built the evaluate index system and evaluate mode of sustainable use of urban land.
