Closed-Loop Supply Chain Management And Its Application In Electronic And Electrical Industry

Closed-loop supply chain is a closed-loop system consists of forward supply chain and reverse supply chain. Closed-loop supply chain has two basic functions: on one hand, it can protect environment and save natural resources; on the other hand, it brings economic benefits to both corporations and the society. This article emphasized on the reverse parts of a supply chain and the joint parts of forward and reverse supply chain. Based on the driving factors analysis of reverse logistics by Carter et al., and De Brito et al., this article brought forward the model of closed-loop supply chain driving factors which consists of inner subject factors, exterior driving factors and macro-environment factors. The number of Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) grows quickly, and WEEE has become one of the biggest pollution sources. This article analyzed the legislations of governments and the practices of corporations in Europe, U.S. and Asia, emphasized on the legislations and practices of WEEE. Based on these analysis, this article analyzed the current practices of close-loop supply chain management in China and made further analysis of its future in China based on the model which is brought forward in part 3 in this article.
