The Historical Evolution And Developing Tendency Of Sino-American Relationship After The Second World War

Nowadays, America is a superpower of the world while China is a large growing developing country. Sino-American relationship is one of the most important bilateral relationships among foreign relationships. There are great differences in ideologies, political systems, cultural traditions and economic interests between two countries. These differences are either a complementary and a basis for two countries to cooperate, or the root for differences of opinions and conflicts of interests. Either a friend or enemy between Sino-American relationship depends on mutual understanding and policy options. At the beginning of the new century, Sino-American relationship has entered into a new era of re-positioning the reality of national interests. On the one hand, the common interests between two countries have increased continuously. The tendency of peaceful talk and friendly cooperation is gratifying. On the other hand, some issues left over from history still linger and new conflicts between two countries also occurred frequently. All of these determine that Sino-American relationship at the beginning of new era will experience a course that is tortuous, devious, cooperative but different. China must establish more positive and effective strategies and draw up more realistic guiding policies on America. Thus our country will enjoy initiative in diplomacy to ensure that Sino-American relationship will go smoothly and healthily. We should face the existing contradictions and issues in Sino-American relationship directly, analyze the causes and draw up effective strategies to cope with. It will have great significance for guiding foreign policies to America and establishing a favorable international environment for peaceful development of China. Therefore, basing on a large number of historical information, using the methods of literature reference, systematic analysis and comparative research, this paper tries to discuss this important academic-valued and realistic significant issue from different courses and different aspects, such as CPC's history, international relationships, international politics and so on, through the combination of theory with example, history with reality, microcosmic analysis with macroscopic discussion.This paper consists of three parts: the historical evolution of Sino-American relationship after the Second World War; the main influential factors on Sino-American relationship; the future developing tendency of Sino- American relationship.
