Research On Affection Of Hardiness And Coping Style To Prison Police's Job Burnout

Prison police usually suffered by high risk and high pressure, which made them tend to have job burnout. The burnout injure prison polices'physical and mental health, and harm to the work in jail. Hardiness is a positive personality, which means a set of characteristic to keep physical and mental health under pressure. Hardiness includes the attitude of commitment, challenge and control. Coping style also has influence on burnout.This paper choose prison police to study. On the basis of analysis of researches already have, according as the hardiness model, this paper choose hardiness as a cause variable, coping style as a mediator, and burnout as a result variable. This study investigates 280 prison polices'information about hardiness survey, burnout survey and coping style questionnaire, in addition to interview of case study, trying to explore the relation and model among hardiness, coping style and job burnout.The conclusions drawn by this research are as follows:First, the revision of college student hardiness survey has been proved reliable and valid to prison police.Second, demographics characters has some effect to emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment; emotional exhaustion is affected by status; depersonalization is affected by gender, job station, single or married, and status; reduced personal accomplishment is affected by single or married, age, status and work age.Third, as a active personality, hardiness is negatively correlated with burnout and passive coping style, and is positively correlated with active coping style; active coping style is negatively correlated with burnout; passive coping style is positively correlated with burnout.Forth, commitment, challenge, active coping style and passive coping style play predict roles for burnout.Fifth, active coping style and passive coping style can mediate partly between commitment and burnout, challenge and burnout.
