Research purposes: Exercise intervention from different sports items are used to explore the impact on the development of the children's physical self-esteem, to help them establish the correct physical concept, and to offer proper vision and real basis for the training of children's psychological quality, and for the promotion of students'overall development to better adapt the society. Methods: A questionnaire survey, experimental research, fifth-grade students in elementary school are chosen to take three types of sports in the experimental teaching. Namely: badminton, taekwondo, children's dance. In order to ensure the reliability of the results, the control group select students from the fifth grade who do not take training. The three groups in the experimental group will take 18 weeks'lesson, twice a week, and 80 minutes once (including the preparatory activities and relaxation activities). Before and after the experiment the "children's physical self-esteem scale" and statistical analysis are used in the investigation. Conclusions: Different forms of physical exercises are all helpful to the development of the children's physical self-esteem. Physical self-esteem levels in badminton classes are dramatically increased in the four dimensions like health, exercise skills, speed, and endurance; Physical self-esteem level in Taekwondo classes are dramatically increased in six other dimensions, such as appearance, physical activity, speed, flexibility, endurance, and physical self-worth; Physical self-esteem level in children dance class has improved markedly in seven dimensions like appearance, physical attractiveness, physical activity, endurance, coordination, physical self-worth, and overall self-esteem. There are differences among children's physical self-esteem from different experimental classes. Badminton is more beneficial than the Tae Kwon Do for children on their views on movement skills and speed dimension; Tae Kwon Do is more conducive to promote children's understanding of power quality than badminton. Children's Dance Project can better enhance children's physical attraction, coordination, physical self-worth, and the overall self-esteem than badminton; Badminton is more beneficial than Children's Dance Project to the children's development in movement skills dimension and speed dimension. Tae Kwon Do is more helpful than children dance to promote the improvement of children's power dimension; While the children dance project is more beneficial than the Tae Kwon Do for children's physical attractiveness, movement skills, coordination, physical self-worth, and the overall self-esteem development. Through this experimental teaching, physical self-esteem of children in different sports projects is influenced by certain physical self-esteem dimensions, which indicates that physical exercises can promote the development of children's physical self-esteem.
