Practical teaching, serving as an effective means of enhancing personnel training quality for higher vocational colleges, plays an important role in the teaching system of higher vocational colleges. As a special type, the higher vocational colleges of arts that center on performing art have not achieved big success in the field of practical teaching. This paper, aiming to study the construction of practical teaching system for higher vocational colleges of arts, tries to offer solutions to the education problems in the higher vocational colleges of arts.This paper covers five chapters.The first chapter, qua introduction, based on the survey and interview of three vocational colleges of arts, pointing out the problems and causes in the present education of higher vocational college of arts, analyzes the macroscopic background and real needs of building up the practical teaching system as well as the means used for the research.The second chapter, making the basic connotation analysis, exposits the connotation, features and the ingredient about the practical teaching system in higher vocational colleges of arts.The third chapter concerns the theoretical base of practical teaching system and it illustrates the theoretical gist of designing practical teaching system from the point of epistemology, learning theory and pedagogy.The forth chapter involves in researching the construction of practical teaching system. In the light of systematical theory and four kinds of functions, namely, propulsion, passivity, regulation and guarantee which make the complete system of thinking logic, the practical teaching system of higher vocational colleges of arts can be divided into four sub-systems: practical teaching aim system, practical teaching content system, practical teaching controlling system and practical teaching guarantee system.Chapter five, taking Hebei Vocational College of Arts as a case, analyzes the research and practice of practical teaching system reform in the specialty of dance performance and especially expounds the implementation and effect of the practical teaching system.This paper, based on the above details, is divided into three stages: the first stage, covering the theoretical level, proposes the basic connotation and theoretical foundation; the second stage, focusing on the building level, illustrates the construction of four sub-systems of practical teaching; the third stage, involving the practice level, dwells upon the implementation and effect of the practical teaching system. The above three stages form a relatively complete research scheme and rigorous logical relationship.Adopting documentary method, survey procedure and comparison method, this paper emphasizes studies of practical teaching system construction of higher vocational colleges of arts particularly on the layer of notion, institution and operation.
