With the further innovation of Chinese higher education system, the employment situation that college undergraduates face is becoming fiercer and fiercer. Personal work values is the main cause of affecting their employment. Correct work values can help them to choose reasonable and suitable jobs. The more they plan their career and the stronger they practice, the higher their career maturity is. The author believes that there is a certain relationship between work values and career maturity. The essay is to prove it theoretically.Currently, there are a great many researches on career maturity of college students, such as the relationship between career maturity and self concept, career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE), locus of control, achievement goal orientation, and so on. But related researches on the relationship between career maturity and work values are a few. It is theoretical, realistic and innovative to study the relationship of career maturity from a standpoint of college students'work values.In this research, Work Values Questionnaire of Lingwen Quan and Zhiyong Zhang were applied.350 college students from three universities in Changsha area, that is, Hunan Normal University, Hunan International Economics University and Hunan University, were selected as research objects. The essay discussed work values of college students, the situation of career maturity and the degree of their correlation from three apects: gender, grade and major. The research shows:(1) Work values of college students pay more attention on hygiene factors and self-development factors; pay less attention to prestige and statue factors.(2) For college students, there is a distinctive difference between graduates and undergraduates on work values, its development process as well as its prestige and statue factors; but there is no distinctive difference among students in gender or major.(3) Scores for career maturity of college students and other factors are low, and their developments are uneven, among which score for career freedom option is the highest, while score for career goal and career self-confidence are obviously lower than other factors.(4) Career maturity of college students has a distinctive difference in major and grade, but not in gender.(5) Career maturity of college students has a positive correlation with development of work values, but it has a strongly negative correlation with statue and reputation, and no correlation with health care. This shows that individuals with high career maturity pay more attention to development, while individual with low career maturity pay more attention to statue and reputation.
