"Innovation is the soul of a nation and the inexhaustible power of a nation's prosperity and development.""A nation without creative ability can not stand in the advanced nation community."With the arrival of informationization and knowledge-based economy, the country of the world is paying attention to the training of the innovative talents.Physics is a natural science which based on experiment, and physical experiments play a vital role in the teaching of physics. However, because the influence of exam-oriented education, many teachers do not pay attention to the physical experimental teaching. Many teachers have divorced theory from reality in the teaching of physical experiments, hindered the development of student's innovative thinking. So, in today's knowledge economy era, the traditional experimental teaching has clearly not suited to the requirements of the times, teaching reform is imperative. The ministry of education issued the Senior High School Physics Curriculum Standard (experiment) in 2003, and beginning from September 2004, reform in the curriculum of the senior high schools in accordance with the new standard has been gradually implemented.It is to construct the new teaching process with the basis of students'activity that promoting the development of students'innovative thinking in the teaching. The teaching process is a learner-centered, based on the main practical activities of students, the student's inquiry learning as the main, and quality of the overall development of students as the goal. Middle school physical experiment is the important way of cultivating students'practical ability, realistic scientific attitude and innovative thinking. Hence,the new curriculum standards mention the experimental teaching an all-time high,reformed the past with the book gives priority to. The experiment is the assistance education pattern,emphasizing to undergo by student scientifically probes into the process,studying the scientific research means,cultivating experiment capability and innovative thinking.This paper first reviews the research at home and abroad about innovative thinking, and expounds the meaning of creative thinking. Then I analyze the feasibility and necessity of promoting students'innovative thinking, combined with the new curriculum standard and our physical experimental teaching situation. This paper is focused on the fourth chapter and the fifth chapter. I analyzed emphatically the teaching strategies which can promote the development of students'innovative thinking in the fourth chapter. I analyzed emphatically the teaching pattern that can promote the development of students'innovative thinking in the fifth chapter, and how to use the teaching strategies which be mentioned in fourth chapter in the teaching cases. This paper just makes a preliminary discussion about promoting students'innovative thinking. It is hoped that this will be helped for the on-going reform of the teaching of physical experiments under the new curriculum standard. And it can provide some reference suggestions to the many physical teachers.
