New Curriculum put forwards that we should reform biology experiment, proposes inquiry learning method, value the development of inquiry experimental teaching. But due to the management system of school, teaching idea of teachers, guiding effect of High school Entrance Examination, lagged evaluation method, the current situation of biology experimental teaching in middle school of our country is less developed, especially the middle school in villages. Moreover China is an agricultural country, the number of students in rural middle school occupy more than 70% of total number of middle school in whole country. And hardware capacities, teaching staff, managing idea, teaching resource of rural middle school are not as good as urban school, so carrying out the quality-oriented education and improving the comprehensive quality are arduous in task, urgent in form, great in importance.This article on the basis of analyzing the current situation of biology experiment teaching in middle school, directing at some existing problems, conducts new try in many aspects, such as teaching idea, development of rural resource, performance of students themselves, and evaluation for students. The particle shows that so long as we changing the mentality, facing experiment teaching positively and making full use of resource of rural middle school, we can successfully complete teaching of biology laboratory in rural middle school. On this basis, this article conduct a research for application of inquiry learning in rural middle school by observation during class, questionnaire, self-assessment by students and assistant evaluation by teachers and so on. The result shows that the teaching method by inquiry learning can improve the achievement (passing rate and excellence rate) of students, improve capacity of finding and solving problem of students. This is good for students to develop creative and practical ability, to enhance process exploring ability, so that students can lay a good foundation of whole-life learning.
