The twenty - first century is the time of knowledge and economy , changeable and full of competition, which acquires its people to have the higher quality of cultural level and the ability to create. However, middle school reading teaching on literary works, which shoulders the vital task of developing national culture and fostering the students' abilities to create, has lots of problems. This situation arouses many people to concern. My paper, dealing with those practical problems , analyses its root and probes how to foster the students' abilities to create in practice.The paper consists of five parts.Part One: Introduction. According to the demand of times and two aspects of insufficiency in reading teaching about literary works at present, I carry out the background of my study and explain the cause of writing . Meanwhile, I make the demarcation line between the conception of "Creation"and " the ability to create" in students' studying literary works.Part Two: Looking closely at middle school reading teaching on literary works. Analyse those concrete problems existing in middle school reading teaching on literary works by observing the phenomenon that manyexperts ,students and their parents all feel dissatisfied about the present teaching situation. Such as: the teachers' lacking of consciousness of creation, neglecting to foster the students' abilities to create and the students' weakness of principle part of consciousness in study block the development their creation.Part Three: Analysing the cause of those problems existing in middle school reading teaching on literary works at present completely. The evaluate system of exam tendency education is an obstacle of fostering the students' abilities to create. The teachers' old sense and lower quality is also the unfavorable influence to block their abilities.Part Four; Concrete countermeasure is put forward directing against those problems in teaching and its cause. The examination of reformed evaluate system stresses the investigation of the students' abilities to create. As for the teachers, they should change their old mind, improve their quality constantly, strengthen to foster the students' abilities to create in teaching and attempt to bring forth new ideas of teaching method.Part Five: Conclusion. Fostering the students' abilities to create in literary education directly influence the improvement of national quality and the development of human spirit. Though there are so many difficulties ahead, I will go on studying and probing in my teaching. I will do my bit for fostering the students' abilities to create.
