We should pay more attention to quality education in the new century. The implementation of quality education in senior maths teaching is more outstanding in basic education. How can we carry out quality education in senior maths teaching in an all-round way?First, we should make full preparations for the implementation of quality education in senior maths teaching.Firstly we should teach our students to form the basic accomplishments of learning maths well, that is, to have strong collective spirit, a sense of discipline, a definite purpose for study and a strong will power. Secondly, in order to help them receive a better quality education in senior maths learning, we should revise the basic knowledge and skills for junior maths before the teaching for senior maths. Thirdly, we should have excellent maths teachers with both ability and political integrity, noble virtues, good knowledge for education theory and high professional quality in maths. Lastly we should manage schools scientifically by "Three Combinations."Second, we should carry out quality education in the learning and teaching in class.On one hand, first of all we should teach our students to have a definite purpose for learning, foster their enthusiasm and initiative in maths learning, train their operational ability and skills, foster their strong will and sense of responsibility and arouse their interest in maths learning. Then, we should ask our students to pay attention to the learning of basic knowledge, listen and do their homework carefully, cultivate good ways and habits of learning such as keen observation, independent thinking, induction and brief summary.On the other hand, teaching in class is the main channel in carrying out quality education in senior maths teaching. Teachers should train students' abilities of finding and solving problems in class and teach them how to learn in class.Third, we should foster senior students' sense of creation and creative ability in maths.Teachers should renew their educational sense and permeate the sense ofcreation among their students in order to make them pay attention to creation. Teachers should give their students space of thinking and provide them chances for creation. They should teach maths by the use of the theory of maths methodology, enable their students to know the way of thinking in maths and have the application ability of maths. Teachers should train their creative ability of maths in maths application.Fourth, we should improve the sense of evaluation and forms and contents of exams.The departments in charge of education, schools and teachers should not pay for much attention to the results of the exams. They can't compare and assess schools, teachers and students only according to the results of the exams. They should blunt the assessment function of exams and improve the forms, ways and contents of exams in maths. This will help examine the comprehensive quality, especially the creative ability of students.
