Qualities of teachers, shown in teaching, are direct and obvious psychological characters to students, which have decisive influence on teaching results. It is a new demand the quality education as well as the development of fundamental education reform make to them to improve the qualities of geography teachers in middle school.The thesis will adopt the way of documentary analyse as well as questionnaire investigation and interview, which analyze the actualities of the home and overseas middle school geography teachers' quality. At the same time, the quality table of Chinese middle school excellent geography teachers is induced. On base of that, according to professor Yieluan's opinion, it has constituted the quality namely professional spirits, ideas of education and professional knowledge, ability and intelligence.First, for answering to geography fundamental education and curriculum reform, adapting for modern geography curriculum's development, the 21st century middle school geography teachers must hold the spirit of love of their profession, the enthusiastic teaching, the responsibility and the spirit of research. And meanwhile, they must have the modern ideas of the educational value, educational process, educational quality and evaluation and geography education and teaching's concept, and so on. The professional knowledge of geography teachers must have substantially geography professional knowledge, extensively relational course's knowledge and generous knowledge of educational and scientific theory.The professional abilities are the ones that fit for the teaching. It will expound the professional ability of geography teachers including basic ability as well as professional ability and self-improvement ability. On the base of that, it willemphasize the special abilities of the teachers, that is, the ability of designinggeography teaching, the research ability and the ability of applying to the modern educational technique as well as the ability of self-rethinking.Professional wits are the concentrative and comprehensive reflection if the geography teachers. All these will form the quality structures of the teachers through their mutual influence and promotion.The paper briefly puts forward the basical route to quality the geography teachers. The thesis thinks that the training of the geography teachers' qualities has much to do with the level of professional virtual. So, it's a necessary way to accomplish the professional spirits to take forceful measures to emphasize the constructure of the teachers' virtue. At the same time, the theory of education is closely relative to the correcting of educational thoughts,- the forming of modern sense and concept. To educate the new pattern geography teachers promoting the reform of curriculum in the 21st century, we must go far into the educational reform and actively find more ways to train the teachers and improve the degree of specialization. This is the key to bring about the middle school geography teachers' high qualities.The purpose of studying the reform of fundamental education and curriculum and the qualities of geography teachers is to constitute a perfect scientific system to let the qualities of middle school geography teachers essentially improved and to meet the demand of the time and the reform of curriculum. It will base on improving the educational quality and educating the high creative intellectuals.
