The ancient Chinese poetry contains the traditional ideas, culture and spirit, which have penetrated through the Chinese psychological structure and have become the feature of national culture. In the poetry , there is literature, philosophy, history and the ethics which standardizes the ideas and actions, as well as the wisdom in a Chinese way . They are the bases for the traditional culture and nothing can take the place of them in the passing down of the national culture . The teaching of ancient Chinese poetry is a subject of science and even a subject of art. Teaching Chinese is a kind of education in humanism, and an education in spirit. Let' s not in the way of " getting instant result" but in the way of "a silent transforming influence" . The ancient Chinese poetry is rich in humanism, so the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry should base on the work of figuring the students' ability and improving the students' tastes. The traditional teaching has always gone into an unsuitable direction, which concentrates on translation, analysis and mechanical trainings. In that way, the most influential and imaginary literature lessons have been turned into a kind of boring lessons with no more aesthetic felling. The teaching of ancient Chinese poetry should be a lively, lifelike teaching. If it is ignored, no way to improve it makes sense. This article, combined theory with teaching practice, is trying to express the main idea through the feeling of reading poems aloud, the design of appreciation of the beauty, association and the using of multimedia.In the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry, we usually try to strengthen the word feeling, the sensitive ability of feeling the language by reading poems aloud. It is also the symbol of Chinese level. But the traditional way of teaching Chinese in China —paying more attention to the text and to the reading —is just the effective way of training the word feeling. And it is also the way today to improve students' ability in understanding Chinese. In the design of appreciation of the beauty, we should realize the fact that the beauty of literature is shown by words and it needs some time to complete. The image is the distillation of beauty and this distillation comes from the understanding, the feeling and the imagination of the poems. The teacher' s task is to create asituation in which the teacher can control something and can do something on purpose, and in which the teacher can transform the traditional ethics into running after "truth" and "kindness" to reach the point of educating students with the appreciation of beauty. In the teaching, the teacher will not only make the students understand the main idea and the style, but also lead the students to open their minds to imagine with the help of learnt knowledge and some experience they' ve had. Through imagination, we can improve the students' Chinese level. Besides, the modernization in Chinese teaching needs us to create a much better situation with the multimedia. But in the teaching process, we' 11 try to avoid an idea, that is, paying more attention to the multimedia than to the traditional teaching method, in order to develop our skill in teaching ancient Chinese poetry.
