The effectiveness of moral education is the focus of both educational circlesand the whole society. It is also the focal as well as the difficult point in moraleducation reform. Secondary vocational education, as an important element in theeducational system, becomes essential in the development of national economy.With the expansion of enrollment in China's higher education institutions, however,high schools are more and more attractive. As a result, secondary vocationalschools are facing increasingly fierce challenges such as the decline of students'qualities, intense competition for graduates in the employment market and theutilitarian understanding of vocational education. These challenges, to some extent,will influence the effectiveness of moral education and probably cause the failureof realization of moral education. It is a primary task for those working insecondary vocational schools to face the reality and to explore the causes of thedecline of moral education as well as to find proper solutions.In this paper, the author introduces the improvements of effectiveness ofmoral education in secondary vocational schools from special studies of the sameissue and theoretically puts forward new concepts for the theory construction andpractice of moral education.Based on the achievements of previous moral education practice, this papergenerally reviews and deeply analyzes the existing problems in the effectiveness ofmoral education in secondary vocational schools. New concepts and principlesare introduced by theoretical analysis and formulation of experiences to emphasizethe necessity and the new connotations for the aim of moral education. Theteachers' role must be emphasized and their educational concepts should bechanged and cultivated. In this way, the scientific law for moral education systemin schools has been studied and the way of applying moral education, based on theconformity of schools, families and society, has been introduced. This paperaffords moral educators salutary lessons that merit attention.
