Farmers' Vocational Education attracted great importance from government. All walks of society pay much attention on it. Moreover, it is needed urgently by farmers. Educationists of farmers consider it as a serious business to pursue. The 5th session of the 15th general congress of the Party put forward the great tasks to improve farmers' education and cultivate groups of new farmers who are knowledgeable and to work technically. These are also requests of building brand new country. The bases of supporting the construction of countryside lies on cultivate tens of thousands of farmers who have brand new concepts and know much knowledge and techniques to work. Large numbers of farmers are the main force of countryside construction. Without the participation and improvement of farmers, socialist countryside construction will be hindered. To strengthen research on farmers' education has great significance to solve the problems of agriculture, countryside and farmers. This article has four parts. The first on is named the significance of farmers' vocational education and the general situation of farmers' vocational education and domestically and abroad. It introduces the necessity and urgent demand of farmers' vocational education, the general situation of farmers' vocational education in China and foreign countries. It also reveals the lack of input in, legal support on and lower social progress in farmers' vocational education. The second part is named the analysis on the current status of farmers' vocational education in China. It introduces the current situation that in China the task of farmers' vocational education is too heavy because large numbers of farmers need it. The third part researches the criteria and the framework of new system of fanners' vocational education in China. The last part suggests the new methods, which are put forward on the bases of stimulating the successful experiences of farmers' vocational education in foreign countries to improve farmers' vocational education.
