Since the 1970's , job burnout has become a popular topic of research and an important concern for career counselors. The majority of studies on burnout focused on documenting its existence within certain occupational groups such as nurses, teachers. These studies showed that occupational burnout is a universal phenomenon that can be best explained by the stresses characterizing a particular occupation or organization. But in china few studies examined in enterprise.The present study attempted to study job burnout of employees in enterprises. And This study focused on the relationship of job characteristics , job burnout and turnover intention. Data were collected from 410 employees in 12 enterprises across the China. Using interview, background information and questionnaire survey, the hypotheses were largely supported .The main results were showed as following:(1) P-j fit on job autonomy and task goal, role ambiguity , role conflict, rewards , social support, work overload had different effects on the dimensions of burnout.(2) Job burnout was shown to significant mediate the effects of autonomy on turnover intention.(3) Job burnout was shown to partially mediate the effects of Role conflict and social support on turnover intention.(4) Job burnout had significant Influence on turnover intention.(5) T-test and one-way ANOVA showed burnout and turnover were influenced by demographics variables: age, job title, time of work. In addition, Male had the higher level than Female on cynicism.(6) 55.1% workers have light job burnout, as a whole the level of workers burnout were not high.Implications of this study were discussed. Both wok positivity and staff performance could be improved through avoiding job burnout by refixation of job and managing human resources effectively.
