The new curriculum requires the traditional teacher role to be transformed, which means both an opportunity as well as a challenge to the teacher.The paper focuses on the role changing of the high school history teacher, which will be divided into eight parts to deal with.On the basis of a new focus on the high school curriculum, the history teacher will be faced with the following transforms: from the teacher importing history knowledge into the facilitator; from the monopolist of teaching into teaching partners; from the one implementing the history curriculum resources into one cultivating teaching resources and then researcher in history teaching; from educator into lifelong learner, and to be the expert in the use of information technology.In short, history teacher's role will basically transform from merely passing on history knowledge to paying attention to the development of the students' studying.In consequence, the teacher must be ready to adapt to the change, which is the demand of the time. The article points out that teacher should not only know how to achieve the changes in the roles, but also take some specific practice related to these changes. This paper tries to be served as guidance in the effective realization of the role change.Finally this paper deals with the essential factors to the changes mentioned above, which can't be ignored in any way.
