| School-based curriculum development is an important component of the curriculum reform for basic education. Basic education curriculum reform has produced new requirements for art curriculum. How to meet with these new requirements is a research worthwhile for primary and secondary schools to do in the fine arts education.This paper is aimed at the study of the school-based art curriculum development in Datian Middle School of Fuyang City, Anhui Province. The special geographical position of Datian Middle School has decided that its school-based curriculum development belongs to that in the underdeveloped regions, and its successful practice and experience can be promoted into vast rural areas of China.This paper is divided into five parts:1) Definitions on the basic concepts of school-based art curriculum (curriculum, school-based curriculum), and an overview of the previous study on school-based curriculum in China and particularly, the focus of this study.2) Based on the analysis of the school-based art curriculum resources of Datian Middle School and the questionnaires (on students, teachers and societies respectively), this study gives the present situation of the school-based art curriculum development of this school and comes to the conclusion that what is the most lacking factor for the School-based curriculum development in Datian Middle School is the more active combinations of teachers' professionalism and ideas and social forces, and at the same time has analyzed the factors that have made it difficult to implement school-based art curriculum development.3) To solve the above problems, programs are put forward to develop the school-based art curriculum in Datian Middle School. Firstly, analyze the background of the school-based art curriculum development; secondly, propose the steps and procedures for school-based art curriculum development; finally, sum up the development results, and analyze the achievements and the deficiencies.4) To combine the theory and practice of school-based art curriculum development, according to the study areas concerning "form-performance", "design-application", "appreciation-review", "integration-exploration", four teaching cases are designed.5) To look ahead at the school-based art curriculum development in Datian Middle School, several suggestions are given here: to establish the concept of quality-oriented education; to develop distinctive teaching characteristics; to raise teachers' awareness of curriculum; to involve curriculum experts to perfect the school-based curriculum development. And this will be the orientation of the school-based curriculum development in Datian Middle School.In short, this study tries to combine our school-based curriculum policy "full-time art curriculum criterion for compulsory education (experimental)" with the actual situation of local schools with the aim to deepen the research of the school-based art curriculum development and design specific cases to be helpful to guide teaching practice. |
