The study of the competency model is one of the critical issues of HRM research now. But in China, the special research on the competency model of trainers has not been done. We choose 20 trainers, conduct the behavioral event interview with them and establish the competency model of excellent trainers in china and validate the competency assessment method. Then using the model we built, we establish the questionnaire, analyze the relationship between competencies of excellent trainers. The following is our main findings:Firstly, in the establishing of the competency model of excellent trainers in china using BEI method, we find that competency score using coding standard of average level and using coding standard of competency frequencies show more reliability, competency's maximal level of complexity is influenced by interview length. And we also find that competency scores using coding standard of average level can differentiate excellent and average performers.Secondly, the competencies of excellent trainers in china include: scene controlling, emotion controlling, customer servicing, learning and innovating, and the comprehensive capacity.There are 6 chapters in this paper.Chapter one includes the research backgrounds, targets, angels of view, methodology and tools, innovation and insufficiencies.Chapter two includes the concepts of competency and trainer, especially the competency model and behavioral event interview.Chapter three describes the research design, including hypothesis, variable setting, data collection and sorting, statistic tool, etc.Chapter four involves the establishment of the trainers competency, including BEI and the analysis of coding result.Chapter involves the dimensionality of trainers competency, including the compiling of questionnaire, the analysis of testing result, the analysis of reliability and validity, the structure of the trainers competency and the exploration of its meaning.Chapter describes the reflection and prospect of the trainers' competency's research.
