With the high development of knowledge economy, how to deploy the excellent people has become one crucial factor to the technological progress and economic growth of one country. At present, on the background of under-education and deficiency in human resources, over-education has happened to graduates in our country. Over-education is related to the education and economy's prosperity and development, and also it has close connection with individual, society and the development of higher education. So it has the vital significance to solve the problem of over-education.This thesis introduces the domestic and foreign scholars about the present situation and background of over-education firstly, and then puts forward the research method and plan adopted by this paper. In the first chapter, this paper analyzes the concept of over-education; we get the over-education's characteristics such as unused learning, unmatched one's ability and not deserved the suitable profits. Based on the induction main influence factors of over-education, the context analyzes the negative consequence.In the second chapter, the thesis carries on the empirical research on over-education of some university graduates in China. From the following aspects, graduate's gender, wage level, work place, debt condition and family background, the investigation result indicates that university graduates have appeared the phenomenon of over-education in the employment. The reason is various, but it mainly manifests in obsolete employment concept of graduates, unreasonable cultivation pattern of education, lagged specialties establishment of university, unscientific employment idea, flawy market economy system and divisive labor market.Through the research, the thesis proposes some related countermeasures from graduates, universities, employer and labor market. According to these, some countermeasures as follows: Promote university graduates to set up correct employment idea, realize the benign interaction between higher education and social economy, impulse universities adapt to talents demand, help the employer build the new servant concept, adjust and optimize the social industrial structure, standard the graduates employment market.
