The development and utilization of geography curriculum resources have been paid more and more attentions recently. The subject of geography is abundant in curriculum resources due to its unique nature. The development and utilization of these curriculum resources will be helpful in middle school. However, the research on geography curriculum resources is just at its beginning. The classification, development and utilization, conformity and innovation, principles and the problems of the geography curriculum resources are left un-studied. Therefore, this thesis tries to bridge the gap.The first part of this paper elaborates the concept and classification of geography curriculum resources. Based on the system theory, and from the three aspects—"who" "to who" and "how", the thesis advocates to classify the geography curriculum resources into three types: main body material and conditional resources, situational and creative resources.The second part of this paper elaborates the implications of developing and utilizing. The geography curriculum resources are closely related to geography curriculum and it is no doubt that there will be no geography curriculum resources without the geography, which is the guarantee to smoothly implement the geography curriculum, and has important influence on the reform of geography education.The third part focuses on the avenues and methods to develop and utilize the geography curriculum resources. According to the principles of being openness, suiting the methods to different people, and being economical, the avenues to geography curriculum resources mainly includes: developing the teacher resources, and the student resources, the text resources which are the essential of geography curriculum resources, the teaching process resources which are the most precious curriculum resources, and the situational and environmental resources which infinite curriculum resources.The forth part identifies the significance of combining and creating the geography curriculum resources, simultaneously proposes the fundamental methods to create the geography curriculum resources. It is also pointed out that the various geography curriculum resources can be combined through comprehensive developing all levels of geography curriculum resources, including the family geography curriculum resources, and widely developing media geography curriculum resources.The fifth part explains the principles and methods to developing the geography curriculum by using case study.
