A Study Of The Village Women's Basic Education In Three Gorges Reservoir Area

Adult's education of village women in Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir Area for a long time because of lag of economic and cultural development. In the present phase, married women occupy the most in village adult women from Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir Area, and the educational situation of women are not so optimistic. Village women as the main-body of education receiver are in disadvantage situation because of lack of education opportunity, system assurance, and social cultural and environmental backup. During the process of Three Gorges Project, large numbers of village women have to face emigration and job-looking, they need to find new starting point of life and to suit new life style because of changes occurred in their life conditions and environments. In face of new requirements brought by new environments, former village women's education cannot meet women's needs or social development without clear purpose, orderly management system, local featured contents, and multiple ways of curriculum exploring. If the proper way of solving new problems brought by women's life and development cannot be found, threatening factors and unstable issues will exist, accompanying with bad impacts on rural human resources exploring and new village building project in socialism.Village women's basic education caters for the tideway and requirement of the times; it is the embodiment of requirements from village women in new century Three Gorges Reservoir Area; and meets the needs of basic educational desire of women with low level of culture (the main-body is illiterate, semiliterate, and adult women above eighteen after eliteracy) who are in disadvantaged situations in Chongqing for life and development in today's society. A mother can affect the whole family. Village women's education is the first task in cultivation of new kind of villagers, and plays am important role for family, village and the society.This study regards shortcomings of researches on village women' education, adult basic education, internal and external studied as its logical beginning, based on research in village women's life and production in some districts and counties of Three Gorges Reservoir Area, through questionnaire and individual talk, we analyze the present situation, especially the influential factors. It is established in concept of village women's basic education, regards primary theories like civil education, life-long education and consistent development as gist of women's education; based on new understanding of clarification of women's education and adult education, it explains meaning and standard systems of village women's basic education in Three Gorges Reservoir Area; and it puts forward the purport of women's basic education. This research also tries to explore contents and approaches of women's basic education, to discuss guarantee conditions of women's basic education. This study discusses several core issues on village women's basic education in Three Gorges Reservoir Area at the new ages, and hopes for new findings. Consequently, we can provide "educational backups and assistances", raise essence educational thoughts suitable for village women's development and human resources exploring. It enriches basis of adult educational theory, and also can provide references for village women's basic education in Three Gorges Reservoir Area. The whole study can be divided into the following seven parts:Part one: Introduction. It clarifies origin, theoretical meaning, and practical significant of this research, as well as summarization of documents, thinking way and approach.Part two: Research and analysis on modern situation of village women's basic education in Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir Area. We pick up 360 women from six districts and counties in this area for questionnaires survey, make talking deeply with 11 managers and village women, and analyze main influential factors based on these jobs.Part three: Meanings and purposes of village women's basic education. This part explains gist of women's education based on theories including civil education, life-long education, and consistent development. It also clarifies new understandings and definitions of women's education, adult education, and expounds meanings and standards system, raises purpose of women's basic education in Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir Area.Part four: Discussion on contents. According to questionnaire and profound talks, we try to discuss contents of women's basic education.Part five: Discussion on approach. In relationship of practices, we discuss contents of women's basic education.Part six: Guarantee conditions.
