Taoxingzhi is one of great Chinese educators and an epoch-making figure in education history home and abroad. He created a set of educational theory system of Chinese characteristics, of which normal educational ideology of the countryside is an important part and a main research topic.The first chapter: the background for the formation of Taoxingzhi's normal education ideology. China's normal education has developed in modern times but still remains to be improved. Having been fostered by countryside culture and influenced by Wangyangming's ideas, Taoxingzhi went to America for further study and was inspired by American progressive ideas. Returning to China, he took an active part in the populace education movement. All these factors above contributed to the forming of his normal education ideology of the countryside.The second chapter: the forming process of Taoxingzhi's normal education ideology of the countryside. To found democratic republic, he said, education must be valued, especially peasants'education, who occupy overwhelming majority of the whole population. He also thought to achieve that developing normal education is more important. Therefore, Taoxingzhi pioneered normal-education-to-countryside movement and created Xiaozhuang normal school to test normal education of the countryside.The third chapter: the connotation of Taoxingzhi's normal education ideology of the countryside. Taoxingzhi's normal education ideology not only includes the basic concept of common normal education; but also advances proper aims of normal education of the countryside, school-running patterns and the contents and methods of education.The fourth chapter: the characteristics of Taoxingzhi's normal education ideology of countryside. Centered on life, Tao's ideology is based in the countryside and advocates normal education in a broad sense.The fifth chapter: the practical significance. In Taoxingzhi's education ideology of the countryside, he expresses his original ideas about the construction, and development of normal and countryside education, and makes strict requirements for teachers, thus providing reference for the development of China's present normal and countryside education as well as having guiding significance for modern teachers'self-development.
