The Research Of The Middle School Students' Information Literacy And The Culture About It In Northwest Areas

The development of information society makes information literacybecome an important criterion in the evaluation of a person's talents; become a literacythat everyone should have. The student is one part of citizenry. They are the main freshactivists of future society and the important successors of socialism cause, so they alsoshould have higher information literacy. In all kinds of students, the middle schoolstudents is a very important ingredient, moreover, they are in the key period of.thedevelopment of body and mind, they are energetic, they thirst for knowledge, theiroutlook on life and the world outlook have not taken form, so we say their plasticity isvery strong. And therefore, reinforce the culture to middle school students' informationliteracy and educate leading to them have very important meaning.At present, every country in the world is carrying out IT education actively, and itsimportant goal is to cultivate and improve the information literacy of students. Ourcountry's IT education is just beginning relative to developed Western countriesinformation literacy education (IT education). Having some educational experts and themiddle and primary school teachers already done this aspect's study actively, but theoryresearch and experience analysis are more relatively, demonstration research is less.And in different area, the students' information literacy of different age have differencein the characteristic and status, so we must grasp the characteristic of studentsscientifically and roundly, know the problems that exist in IT education. As thus, we cancarry out IT education correctly, and improve the validity of education. In addition,there is very deep "digital divide" between our country and the developed country. Inorder to reduce extant "digital divide", we should reinforce the study about IT education,as far as area be concerned, we should reinforce IT education of western regionespecially. Because of above-mentioned causes, the author selected part of middleschool students in Northwest areas as main respondents, and does some studies.Based on the study and analysis of many domestic and foreign literatures, the papergave a summary and made analysis about the study of domestic and foreign ITeducation. It played an important role in my study, at the same time, it helped the paperto expound the importance of carrying out the investigation and study of middle school students in Northwest areas once again. Then the paper analyzed the development of"information literacy". Taken this as basis, and according to national conditions of ourcountry and some achievements, the author expounded the demand of our country tomiddle school students' information literacy. By investigating the status of theinformation literacy of some middle school students in Northwest areas, the author gaveus deep analysis of the status of the students' information literacy and some of theproblems in cultivating the students' information literacy. And the author put forwardsome proposals in terms of internal cause and external cause which effects theinformation literacy of middle school students, such as reinforce the construction of theinformation technology environment, improve the teachers' information literacy and soon. These proposals' pointed Northwest areas correctly. And the author summarized amodel about cultivating the middle school students' information literacy. At last, theauthor examined the effectiveness and the operation of the proposals through theteaching practice. Through the introspection about the teaching practice and thecommunication with the information technology teacher, the author found somedeficiencies, and then the author proposed the further research direction.
