| Many researchers have proved that long time acute exercise can produce massive free radicals, which will attack cellular membrane system and cause the malfunction of cells and finally decrease the exercise performance. So the study, which focused on the antioxidant ability of glutamine, aimed at the effects of glutamine on free radical defense system in myocardium and brain of swimming rats after acute exercise, to investigate the positive effects of glutamine on the antioxidant ability in myocardium and brain of swimming rats.Our research subjects are SD rats with 4 weeks age, fed for one week, which were randomly divided into 4 groups: sedentary control group, sedentary group fed with GLN, training group and training group fed with GLN. After swim training for 6 weeks, training group and training group fed with GLN started to swim until exhaustion on the first day of the seventh week. At once, we selected myocardium and brain of each group to exam MDA,SOD,GSH,GSH-PX.The result is as follows:1.The content of MDA and GSH and the activity of SOD and GSH-PX in myocardiumMDA content: S group is higher than C group(P<0.01); there is no significant difference between SG group and C group; SG group is lower than S group(P<0.05).SOD activity: S group is lower than C group(P<0.01); SG group is lower than C group(P<0.05); SG group is higher than S group(P<0.01).GSH content: S group is lower than C group(P<0.01); SG group is lower than C group(P<0.05); SG group is higher than S group(P<0.01).GSH-PX activity: S group is lower than C group(P<0.01); SG group is lower than C group(P<0.05); SG group is higher than S group(P<0.01).2.The content of MDA and GSH and the activity of SOD and GSH-PX in brain MDA content: S group is higher than C group(P<0.05); SG group is higher than C group, but there is no significant difference; SG group is lower than S group(P<0.05).SOD activity: S group is lower than C group(P<0.01); there is no significant difference between SG group and C group; SG group is higher than S group(P<0.01).GSH content: S group is lower than C group(P<0.01); SG group is lower than C group(P<0.05); SG group is higher than S group(P<0.01).GSH-PX activity: S group is lower than C group(P<0.01); SG group is lower than C group(P<0.05); SG group is higher than S group(P<0.01).It can be concluded that to supplement glutamine can control the increase of MDA content in myocardium and brain after acute exercise, improve their antioxidant ability and reduce the production of free radical. So that myocardium and brain can be protected. |
