The synthetic practice activities curricula are the curricula that students take under their teachers'guidance, choosing and deciding a research topic, and hence taking the initiative in the acquisition and application of knowledge and in solving problems. These activities are included in the new course which is founded in another turn of the reform over the fundamental educational curricula and which have turned out the starting point for the future to reform over the curricula. As one basic subject, biology's effective integration and the synthetic practice activities cannot merely promote the conversion of teaching concepts and teaching methods, but aid in solving varieties of problems that occur in the implementation course of these activities and subsequently push the synthetic practice activities curricula forward.Using interview method and questionnaire method as the major research methods, this thesis investigates the current situation of the synthetic practice activities curricula carried out in the high schools in Guiyang city. It is intended to disclose some aspects of the current situation and consequently provide some models to which the schools can refer in the implementation of such kinds of activities. From the analysis of the investigation results, we can find there is not much optimism about the implementation of the synthetic practice activities of biology in the high schools in Guiyang city and that the two principal causes of such pessimism lie in the factors of resource and implementation. The resource factors include the funds, equipment and places as well as professional tutors for these activities, and implementation factors can find the root in the choice of activity topics, the design of activity plan and the reflection upon the activity involved as well. Bearing these factors in mind, the author of this thesis proposes that, for a better implementation of the synthetic practice activities of biology, a professional and scientific team of tutors should be built up and the cultivation of these tutors be deepened further with a constant improvement over their personal quality and proficiency, and that departments of education should strengthen their support for the curriculum of the synthetic practice activities through constructing healthy insurance systems, guarantying the smooth and colorful implementation of the synthetic practice activities in the high schools. In addition, this thesis presents some excellent topics and cases for the synthetic practice activities of biology after a careful analysis and research.
