Our Chinese textbook with a long history has experienced a tortuous course. It is a strong support for the development of Chinese education and has laid a solid foundation for the enhancement of Chinese culture. New curriculum reform of elementary education adheres to student-development-based curriculum concepts, and Chinese Curriculum Standards also states an all-round improvement of students' Chinese attainments. Since 2004, the new curriculum of senior high school has been gradually implemented all around the country, and there came out many sets of Chinese textbooks which matched the new High School Standard.Based on the development and studies of Chinese textbook in our country, this paper takes the new Chinese Textbooks by Jiangsu Education Publishing House (which is under experimental use now) as a research object, and tries to give an objective and just description of the overall picture of the textbook, and analyzes the characteristic of redaction, on one hand offers help and reference to the users of this textbook ----the teachers, help them to understand and handle this textbook more deeply and systematically, on the other hand offer improved suggestion to the compilers.This paper has four chapters altogether. Chapter one reviews the development of Chinese Textbook and the research on it, in order to construct a theory platform for the study and review of the new Chinese Textbooks by Jiangsu Education Publishing House. Chapter two focuses on the analysis of the characteristic of the textbook's architecture system, and the idea of redaction embodied on it. Chapter three studies the display of the textbook, discusses the three ways of display: text study, problem discussion, and activity experience, and their strategic and technical innovation upon Chinese Textbook redaction, as well as their meaning to the change of teaching modal of Chinese lecture. Chapter four studies the selection of the textbook, discusses its standard of selection and value orientation, and inspects the cultural value of the textbook. On this basis, the inadequacies of the architecture system, the selection and the redaction strategy and technology of the textbook will be given in order to offer some reference to the teachers who use this textbook and the compliers for future improvement.
