The education-scitech-economy integrity is trend of higher education development in 21st century. During the process of Chinese modernization, university will enter the society and be the center of it and its social service function is becoming more and more important. University should not only be the center of cultivating talents and scientific research, but also take on the responsibility of implementing technology innovation, developing high-tech, realizing industrialization service. Only in this way, can the university make scitech rapidly into productivity, bring economic and social benefits , and eventually realize its own value.Local universities, especially the newly-established universities as the place of talents, must set their foot on the local society which is its important developing space and major serving object. Serving the construction of all-round well-off society and harmonious society is both the important function and the assumed responsibility for newly-established universities.Viewing from the perspectives of theory and practice, the paper makes a summary and narration about social service of newly-established universities in Fujian province. This paper consists of four chapters besides the preface. Combining the definition of colleges'social service and characters of newly-established universities, the second chapter defines what is social service of newly-established universities, its serving contents and expounds the significance of servicing the local societies for newly-established universities. Then based on a general introduction of 7 newly-established universities in Fujian province, the third chapter gives a practical analysis and studies about the actual state of social service and its characters of these newly-established universities. The fourth chapter analyses the problems of social service existing in these institutions and exposes its reasons, basing on a simple comparative of social service with newly-established universities in other provinces and old-history universities. The last chapter supplies some practical solutions optimizing the social service of newly-established universities in Fujian province from the aspects of upgrading its own serving abilities and optimizing its exterior conditions.
