Survey On The University Student Satisfaction Degree

The students are the hosts of universities, and students'satisfaction index play an indispensable role in the valuation of university. From the investigation of the student satisfaction, we can find out the advantages and disadvantages of the services, which will provide valuable information to help university education management departments to make policy. These are meaningful for promoting the development of university itself and the higher education.This paper combines the theory of customer satisfaction with the education principle of "take student as center". On the basis of the application of the theory of customer satisfaction in the higher education realm, we gain the data of students'satisfaction by using "student satisfaction questionnaire in university". Then we use SPSS to analyze the data, compute various service satisfaction indexes and discuss the influence of the factors, such as academics, sex, grade, living place etc. upon the students' satisfaction.According to the analysis results of quadrant diagram of student's satisfaction, we can find out the items which are needed to improve currently, and induce students'suggestions.Survey results:(1) The satisfaction indexes of the undergraduates of Soochow University in teaching service, library service, the student management and support service, the campus cultural atmosphere and living service are 58.6%, 61.5%, 58.1%, 60.5%, 51.6%. The total students' satisfaction index is 61.4%. Except living service, the others are good. The students' satisfaction loyalty is 56%. The student s'complain rate is 92.3%.(2) Except for the aspect of"the campus cultural atmosphere", Academics have significant differences in five services and the total score. And the scores of science students are higher than arts students. (3) The students'satisfaction has no significant differences in sex. The sex of students has random influences on the satisfaction of each item.(4) The students'satisfaction has significant differences in grade. The greatly differences come from grade one and grade three, grade two and grade three. To five services and the total scores, the scores of freshmen are higher than juniors, and sophomores are higher than juniors.(5) The students'satisfaction has significant differences in different places where the student come from. The dramatics differences come from students who come from village and little town, village and the city.
